Upload Bulk Photos

Overview

Staff members with administrative access are able to bulk upload photos for students and staff directly into Compass via the 'Upload Bulk Photos' page under Administration Tools.

Staff will require the 'ConfigureBase' permissions in order to be able to schedule a bulk upload of photos into Compass.

Preparing photos for upload

In order to bulk upload photos successfully, the photos need to be prepared correctly.

Photos must be:

  • saved in .jpg format 
  • named with the user's timetable or staff code (eg, EXA0001.jpg or TES.jpg); and
  • correctly rotated and saved in portrait orientation.
Note: Photos must be extracted and not in a zip file

How to bulk upload photos

Navigate to the Administration Tools page within the Tools Menu (cog icon to the right of your name in the Compass portal) and select the 'Upload Bulk Photos' option.

Click 'Upload Photos' button.
     

Drag and Drop your images into the pop-up.

     

The files will commence uploading and data will populate advising of the files that succeeded.  If any fail to upload, details will show.

Troubleshooting failed bulk uploads

If your photos have failed to upload please check the following points:

  • Photos are in .jpg format, named by user code and that the user code matches the user codes in your school's Compass portal for both staff and students.
  • Photos are all saved in portrait orientation.
  • The file you have selected for upload is less than 100MB in size.


If the file you have selected for upload meets all requirements, and still fails to upload, please send the file to our support team via email (support@compass.edu.au) with a screenshot and brief description of any error message you have received.
