Once a student's data has been added to PPOD, it will be synchronised across to Compass via the CompassLink service.
The CompassLink service runs inside your school and will automatically synchronise school data from PPOD to Compass.
This synchronisation of data will occur regularly, removing the need to manually add students to the Compass portal.
Administration staff at the school will still need to enter user record details for new staff and parents of students via the People Management module. To do so, the staff will require the "UserRecordsAdmin" permission. For further information regarding Permissions, please refer to the

Installing CompassLink
CompassLink needs to be installed on a server or computer running a Windows operating system.
Once the service is installed, you will need to contact our support team to advise that this is complete and we will finalise the configuration to enable the importation of student data from PPOD.
Synchronising data between PPOD and Compass
The CompassLink service will automatically run overnight to ensure that new students appear in the Compass portal in preparation for their first day of classes.
If for some reason the student hasn't been added to PPOD in advance of their first day of attendance at the school, staff can also run a manual data sync to force an update from PPOD into Compass once the student has been added to PPOD.
To undertake this action in Compass, staff will require the "Configure" permission.
Navigate to the Tools menu (cog icon in the top right-hand corner of the Compass portal) and select the Administration Tools option.
From the Administration Tools page, select the Client Manager link.
Once this page loads, click on the blue cycling arrows icon to force the data synchronisation process to begin:
To ensure the success of a manual sync request to CompassLink, you will need to ensure that the dot at the left-hand end of the row for the synchronisation instance (indicated by the "(S)" notation in the Client ID column) is green.

Configuring PPOD Username and Password
Schools have the ability to edit/change the username and password for Compass to access PPOD if for some reason the password needs to be changed. PPOD username and password changes are done in Client Manager.
To change the username and/or password, click the pencil icon next to the Authentication client, then the pencil icon next to Student under Person Import Settings.
This will populate the Import Settings widget. You will then need to click the pencil next to PpodDataExtractor and then enter the PPOD Portal Username and Password.
