Chronicle Tags

Chronicle Tags

Overview

Chronicle Tags allow staff to efficiently add a tag to students on the class roll for instant insights on wellbeing, attendance, positive behaviour etc.

They are generated from school specified Chronicle Templates and when applied via the roll to a student create an associated Chronicle entry for the student on their profile.

Adding a Chronicle Tag via the Roll

When in one of your class rolls, locate the student you need to add the Chronicle tag for.

In the Chronicle Tag column, select the applicable tag from the list for the student.

Please Note: The Chronicle Tag column is visible when the roll view mode is set to 'Photos View' or 'Minimal View'.

Click 'Save Roll' and the tag will be applied to the student.  This will also trigger an associated Chronicle entry for that tag to be added to the student's profile.

To add more information to the Chronicle entry if required, navigate to the student's profile page and see the new Chronicle entry listed in the Student Chronicle on the right-hand side.

You can either add a comment to the entry, or click the arrow to open the dropdown menu and select 'Edit/View Details' to edit the entry.

To remove a Chronicle Tag for a student, in the roll, click to the 'Chronicle Tag' column for the student and select the currently applied tag you want to remove from their drop down list. The icon will be removed from the student.  Save the roll and the tag will be removed.
Please note: Removing a Chronicle Tag will also remove the associated Chronicle entry.

Setting up a Chronicle Tag

For a Chronicle Tag to be accessible to staff on Rolls, it must first be set-up at the template level in Chronicle.

To add a Chronicle Tag to a template, go to the Chronicle page under the 'Organisation' menu (grid icon).

Click to the 'Administration' tab (staff will require the applicable Chronicle permission to perform this task).  Then click to the 'Templates' tab.

Locate the applicable template and click the edit pencil icon.

On the 'Details' tab of the template, tick the 'Set Template as a Chronicle Tag on rolls' option to enable and assign an icon for the tag from the available options.
Click 'Save Template and Close' to update the template with these changes.  The Tag will now be available for staff on rolls.

Please note: There is a maximum of 7 Chronicle Tags, if your school has reached this maximum, when adding any further tags to a template, the changes will not save.

Please refer to the 'Creating a Chronicle Template' article for more details on other aspects of creating Templates.
