Adjusting Roll Marking to One Session a Day

Adjusting Roll Marking to One Session a Day

Overview

Please Note: This article is for when schools are required to deliver lessons primarily in an online format.
In this setup, teachers will only be required to mark a roll once a day. Any students that are not present online will have their attendance correctly altered using either a Note/Approval for a parent-approved absence (same process as you use usually), or by adding students attending school physically into a school activity.
Note: This method only works for Primary Schools where the AM/PM roll contains the same student group.
e.g Form Group based rolls.

Adjusting Roll Marking to One Session a Day

  1. Navigate to the 'cog' icon and click 'Administration Tools'.
  2. Scroll to the very bottom of this page and navigate to 'Year Level Management'
  3. Once here, navigate to the Edit pencil next to the first year level (e.g. Prep), and click the Edit Pencil. Click the 'Automarking Behaviour' dropdown and select 'Aggressive'. This will mean that your roll marking from the first period of the day (AM) will carry across to the second period of the day (PM)
  4. Under 'Automark Threshold' you will need to ensure the minutes entered is longer than the break between your periods.
For Example: If the AM session finishes at 12 o'clock, and the PM session doesn't start till 2 o'clock, the threshold will need to be 121 minutes to cover this break period

5. Once you have made these changes, click the Save button and move onto the next year level. You will need to follow these same steps for each of the year levels that you have listed (Prep - 6)

Please note: If you need to change the roll marking for a student to be different in the PM than what they were marked in the AM session, you will need to do this manually as you would usually through the PM roll
